Halo: Reach
This game came out several months ago but is still relatively new and quite popular. Its release date was on September 14, 2010. This game is almost exactly like Halo 3 except that the story, gameplay, and items have changed. This game is probably the least violent game I am reviewing but it is still violent enough for some people to not want to see it. I cannot stress enough that if you watch anything on my site that it was of your doing. I am in no way liable for anything off my site that upsets you.
Plot
Halo: Reach is a prequel to the first Halo.
Halo Summary: In the Halo universe the earth expanded to other planets and colonized them. Earth and it's colonies are then attacked by an advanced coalition of alien races known as The Covenant. To counter this new threat the Humans create the SPARTAN program which takes normal humans at around age 6 and grows them into elite super soldiers. In the first 3 Halo games, you play as Spartan 117, or the Master Chief. You are one of the last of the Spartans after the fall of Reach.
Halo Reach takes place in the year 2552 on the planet Reach where the SPARTAN program was developed. You take the control of an unnamed Spartan whose call sign is Noble Six. You are a new member to the elite special forces Spartan group known as Noble Team. You and your team are sent to find out why a relay station on Reach has gone dark. Suspecting that it was the result of an insurgent attack you and your team discover that the Covenant is on Reach and a massive war then breaks out. The game then centers around you and your team trying to evacuate the civilians off Reach before the Covenant "Glass" the planet. Glassing is a term used in the Halo universe to refer to the Covenant using their massive war ships to blast a planet with their highly advanced energy weapons turning anything they hit to molten rock and glass, hence the term Glassing. If you haven't played the game or heard about what happens at the end I won't go any further. If you're interested in what happens, go play the game yourself!
Gameplay
Halo: Reach's gameplay is almost exactly the same as Halo 3. The only major differences are the new weapons such as the covenant Needle Rifle, or the UNSC DMR (Designated Marksman Rifle). Armor abilities have been added as well. These include the Jetpack, Armor Lock which generates a invulnerable shield on the player but rooting them to the ground until the ability is used up. Drop Shield which drops a portable shield on the ground, as long as your within the shield you cannot be hurt (unless someone drives a vehicle through it) and your personal shields and health with replenish faster. Sprint just lets you run faster for a short time and Evade lets you dodge enemy fire. The final armor ability is Cloaking, which turns the player invisible and also comes with a radar jammer.
