Things went smoothly on Thursday, March 31, at the Weideman Farm House was carefully moved onto a permanent foundation. Sitting on top of a full basement the house will eventually become a museum display to the importance of agricultural families of Western Nebraska.Volunteers NeededThere are many volunteer opportunities at FARM during the spring and summer months to help with a variety of tasks and activities. Give us a call at 308-436-1989 if you would like to help.Admission and HoursLocated in Western Nebraska, the Farm and Ranch Museum offers an excellent look at High Plain agriculture of the past. The feature crops are sugar beets, dry beans, potatoes, ranching, irrigation, dryland farming and conservation tillageAdmission charges are $3 for adults, children under 12 are free
The museum exhibits include feature crops and general agriculture. At various times of the year we demonstrate agricultural practices and hold events. The library/archive holds an extensive collection of agricultural books, photos, equipment manuals, equipment literature, and oral histories. The Library/Archive holds collections of area farmers and agricultural businesses including Sishc Manufactoring, Lockwood Corporation, Great Western Sugar, and Dutton Implement Company.
