Things went smoothly on Thursday, March 31, at the Wiedeman Farm House was carefully moved onto a permanent foundation. Sitting on top of a full basement the house will eventually become a museum display to the importance of agricultural families of western Nebraska.


Welcome......

Located in western Nebraska, the Farm And Ranch Museum offers an excellent look at High Plains agriculture of the past. The feature crops are sugar beets, dry beans, potatoes, ranching, irrigation, dryland farming and conservation tillage.


 

Volunteers needed!

There are many volunteer opportunities at FARM during the spring and summer months to help with a variety of tasks and activities. Give us a call at 308-436-1989 if you would like to help.

 


Admission charges are $3 for adults, children under 12 are free.

Starting May 1, 2011

Summer Hours: Monday - Saturday 9 a.m - 5 p.m., Sunday 1-5 p.m.

Starting Nov. 1, 2011

Winter Hours: Monday-Friday - 9 a.m.- 4 p.m.

                         

We will open other times by appointment.

The museum exhibits include feature crops and general agriculture. At various times of the year we demonstrate agricultural practices and hold events. The Library/Archives holds an extensive collection of agricultural books, photos, equipment manuals, equipment literature

and oral histories. The museum Library/Archives holds collections of area farmers and agricultural businesses including Sishc Manufacturing, Lockwood Corporation, Great Western Sugar, and Dutton Implement Company.
